My Mission: "I want to improve education and empower children in impoverished areas throughout Peru."
Objectives:
- to raise money and fund the building of schools throughout the impoverished areas of Peru
- to support a higher quality of education
- to educate and motivate students to learn and excel beyond the basics, thereby giving them a better opportunity to improve their living conditions and economic status
- to teach English to the children to expand their worldly knowledge and to enhance their qualifications for further education/employment
- to provide financial aid for these students, so that they can attend college
- to inspire the social conscience of other educated teenagers and young adults of higher socioeconomic level within Peru to participate and further this program
Initial Goal:
To build one school (for approximately 500 children) in an impoverished area of Lima, Peru that provides:
- schooling from grades K-6 (primary school), and eventually 7-11 (secondary school)
- a high quality of education
- nutritious meals
- community involvement
- a program that prepares the children for further education through partnerships with existing private schools, universities, and programs of higher education
- a “Big Angel” mentoring program for each child until graduation from secondary school
